The Decentralized Directorate of Culture (DDC) of Cusco confirmed the release of entry slots for the Inca Trail network to Machu Picchu that had previously been blocked for various dates; these will be available for purchase starting tomorrow, Wednesday, September 16, at 9:00 a.m., via the official website and reservation system.

In a statement, the DDC Cusco notes that, as a result of monitoring and verification of the official reservation system for the Inca Trail network, reservations were identified that remained blocked without the corresponding payment or confirmation being finalized within the established timeframes.

What will the purchase be like?
The sale will be made through the official portal and reservation system of the Inka Trails Network. The process is part of the changes recently implemented by the Ministry of Culture.

Since September 11, the mechanism that allowed a reservation to be maintained for three hours was eliminated. Now, the visitor has a maximum of 15 minutes to complete the purchase and validate the payment. Once confirmed, the ticket is assigned and issued in the name of the visitor.

The modification seeks to prevent spaces from being held back by reservations that ultimately do not materialize. When a ticket is not purchased, it becomes available for sale again.
